I had this melody kicking around for some 30 years looking for lyrics. It was inspired by the Quebec song "Mon Pays" (My Country). I knew I wanted it to be an anthem for peace and that the words should be in Hebrew. Over the years many lyricists had a go at it, but nothing ever came of it. Then our old friend Israeli artist and poet Daphna Arod came to visit, and lo, the song "Israel Shemah" is born!
